I have a twin?

So apparantly I have a twin out there. Rand came home the other day and told me that a friend of his asked him if I was in a picture in the Ensign magazine (LDS magazine) this last month. Rand told him 'no' and our friend asked if he was sure and then showed him the picture. We couldn't believe how much it actually looks like me. I'm interested to know

what this girl looks like from a front view.

and we really are going private. I've been swamped and tired (mono) and I have a million things I usually have to get to before I can get to making the blog private. But I promise it is coming. :o)

Going Private...for reals!

Okay, so we really are 'going private' with the blog despite two missed deadlines for it. It's been busy and making the switch wasn't high on my priority list. My goal really is to have this thing private by the end of the week.

Weekend Fun

So I'll say that our weekend began on Thursday evening (since most the pictures are from that day). After running out of time to get my cake frosted and prepared for class on Wednesday night, and dropping 4 of the 5 roses I made in class while carrying them to the car, I decided to finish up the cake at home on Thursday night. The frosting was a little thin, so it didn't smooth out like I would have liked...but lets me honest, this cake doesn't really scream 'Chelsy' anyway. I just thought if we HAD to make roses in class, I should conform and make light pink ones. And by the time I started to decorate it was late and I had no idea what I was going to do.

I realized that there was some out-of-order decorating

that would have made things look a little nicer, but oh well.

Driving home on Thursday, Rand made the mistake of trying to clean our windsheild when the wiper wasn't working (he momentarily forgot). He then had a nice stream right down the middle of his 'view' that the cold weather promptly froze in place. It gave me a good laugh that the whole reason he did it completely back-fired. (I'm cruel, I know).

What made it even better is right after that the car in front of us turned their window washer on and made their window nice and clear. Rand thought they were mocking him. Did it stop there? Of course not. He then noticed in the rear-view mirror that the car behind did the same. haha!
(thanks to he and his dad, the wiper is now fixed and ready for our next storm.)

So who is this woman in the picture, you ask? Rand can tell you...

Friday night I was exhausted, it was a busy week. We decided it was a lounge around, order pizza and watch TV kind of a night. I wanted to see a couple of episodes of Gilmore Girls. We borrowed a season from our neighbor and began the watching (Rand is a wonderful hubby!)

If you've ever seen Gilmore Girls you would know that they use a lot of references to things or people that if you don't know about, you'll miss the sarcasm/humor in the comment. So to help people out, they include with the DVD's a little booklet that gives you a quick definition of these things. During an episode which included dancing one of the characters made a comment about calling her Martha Graham. I grabbed the book to promptly look up who Martha Graham was because I don't have a clue (a few of the dance camps directors I work with may be disappointed about that one.) Oh...but before I could even crack the book open what did I hear? I heard Rand telling me that Martha Graham is a famous dancer and choreographer, more specifically, the person who is attributed with inventing modern dance.


Now this was one of those moments where I just began to laugh. Usually we will be watching a sports event or ESPN and Rand will ask me if I know what something is (like the difference between a false start and off sides in football.) When I answer him correctly (about 99.9% of the time) he says, "I love being married to you."


I have to admit that when he told me who Martha Graham was, I just laughed and laughed and told him that this was not a moment anything like those moments when I know sports. I just sat there imagining some of his friends invisibly watching that conversation and dying laughing.


In reality, I don't mind that he knows that. I just thought it was funny I had NO IDEA of this lady and he knew exactly who she was (a nice, well-rounded guy). He once did a report on the history of modern dance because he was dating a girl who was a modern dancer and he wanted to better understand the thing that she loved. To make the story a little more enjoyable, while talking to my parents I asked my dad who Martha Graham was. He knew.
He listed plays she's choreographed and everything.


I then asked my mom...she had no clue.
But she reassured me that she knew who Joe Namath was. :o)

Lastly, Saturday we attended the Draper Temple open house with my wonderful friend Cameron and her hubby Ben. She used to live in D.C. and when she moved to Utah I was so excited because I'd get to see her more. Well, I think this is the first time I've seen her in over a year. haha. We made a good excuse for us to meet in the middle (they are up in Salt Lake).

Sorry, no 'live' pics of the temple. With the way the tour is set-up you couldn't really get any pics.

After the tour we headed to one of our favorite restaurants, the Asian Star. It was yummy and we were totally stuffed by the end. I'm already excited for the next time we hang out with them. It gives me something to look forward to in 2010!
