So Rand planned everything and wouldn't tell me anything about the honeymoon. We flew to San Diego and spent a day there walking around the city. The next day we took a taxi and it arrived at the dock where we would board the cruise ship and head on our way to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, Mexico. Unfortunately, tropical storm Delila kept us from docking in Cabo, so we looked at the shoreline from the ship as it turned around and headed back towards Endsenada. The cruise was a blast, we had fun in Ensenada as we walked around the shops (Rand as able to speak spanish with everyone, which he loves to do), and we went on a
kayaking excursion out to the La Bufadora (the blow hole). It was a blast!
We were told about this place up on top of a building in San Diego where you could see out over the city. Of course, we thought the coolest part of it was being able to see down into PETCO Park. This would be a pretty sweet view to watch the game from if you
couldn't get a ticket for some reason!
We met this couple on the cruise, Blair and Katie. We went to this newlywed game the first day and they asked girls to come up and share how they were proposed to. This cute blonde girl who was wearing knee length shorts and a cute cap sleeve shirt got up and shared how her husband had proposed to her while snowmobiling in Utah. The show 'host' told her that she looked really young and she responded that she was 19 and her husband was 22 (I think that was it). Rand and I knew instantly that they were indeed LDS. So afterwards we ran into them at the table tennis tournament (both Rand and Blair entered it) and we started talking. They became our cruise couple friends...it was a blast.

Below: Rand took 2nd place in the table tennis tournament on the cruise ship and won a cool little medal. Randomly enough, he was beaten by an institute teacher from Southern California! We were able to make the mormon connection with him because Rand had a BYU shirt on and he had a "Riverside California Mission" hat on. Rand said he can usually beat anyone once...except for institute teachers. He always gets beat by institute teachers...and this was no exception! If I remember correctly, the score was about 21-7!
These next four pictures are from Ensenada. Rand loved walking through the markets and talking with all the people there. I couldn't understand what they were talking about, and the smell of the fish was pretty nasty! But it was a cool experience.
Above: The final night on the ship at dinner. We loved the people we ate dinner with at our table all week (they assign you your dinner table). It was fun to meet different people and hear different experiences. We had an older couple who had been on a number of cruises and he looked like he was straight out of Dukes of Hazzard (a skinny 'Boss Hogg'). Then we had a couple who had traveled and been all over the world (he was always telling Rand to try new foods like caviar and escargot). Then we had a couple who hopped on the cruise a day after he had returned from his duty in Iraq. He definitely had some interesting stories to share with us! And the last couple, randomly enough, was a newlywed couple who had been married the same day as us in the San Diego Temple. It was funny...you could pretty much
hand pick those who were LDS on the cruise ship!
Below: This is back in San Diego. We had a few hours to kill before our flight back to Utah and so we went and had lunch at this little mexican restaurant.
